SANTA ROSA — Accounting and consulting firm Burr Pilger Mayer announced the hiring of Michelle Ausburn to the firm’s Santa Rosa office today. She joins as a senior manager in the Assurance Services Practice Group, a move that will take effect at the start of 2012.

Last week our new employees began their professional careers at BPM. Staff in Assurance and PCS went through BPM’s Orientation, followed by 4 days of impactful training from BPM University. The team got to know one another over mock audits, systems trainings, soft skills trainings, and many happy hours.

Over the past couple weeks, BPM’s recruiting teams have visited many college campuses, seeking the best entry level candidate. A huge THANK YOU to all who participated, especially the students who juggle 7-12 interviews at a time!!

Next step is IN HOUSE interviews, which are a lot more fun. Candidates get to finally have a glimpse at what a potential career at BPM will be like.

1. Come prepared. Do your research on the firm you are interviewing with.

2. Know yourself and what is on your resume.

3. Wear the coat! We assume you show up to the interview looking and smelling your BEST.

4. Be yourself. Take 3 breaths in, 3 breaths out, for 3 seconds each. It works…a bit.

2. PRIVACY SETTINGS

3. Get on LinkedIn and start building your network

4. Though Social Media isn’t going anywhere, don’t neglect REAL NETWORKING. An in person meeting always promotes a much stronger connection. Make yours count this week!
